Mike has been the official
arena contract photographer at both the NFR in Las
Vegas and at the CFR in Edmonton for 6 years and 7
years respectively. Being at the NFR has a certain
added distinction for Mike namely he is the first
and only Canadian photographer to hold that contract
position.
Mike was also brought in as the official arena photographer
for the 2002 Olympics Rodeo which featured Canada’s’
best rodeo competitors squaring off against their
American counterparts at Salt Lake City.
During the year you will find Mike capturing the action
at Calgary’s Rodeo Royal, Cloverdale Rodeo,
Grande Prairie Stompede, Daines Ranch Pro Rodeo (Innisfail),
Sundre Pro Rodeo, Ponoka Stampede, Calgary Stampede,
Strathmore Pro Rodeo, Medicine Hat Stampede, SBRA
finals, ABRA finals, ATRA finals, CHSR finals, LRA
finals, WRA finals, Hanna Pro Rodeo, CCA finals to
name a few.
When he is not on the road at rodeos Mike shoots commercial,
architectural, industrial photography as well as weddings
and portraiture. His client list includes some of
Edmontons finest home builders and most SAM ( Sales
and Marketing Awards ) winners/finalists each year.
Atypical day will find Mike on location shooting anything
from company service awards , plantsite construction
photography, show home interiors , sports teams ,
or rodeo action.
Mike and his wife Iona have operated
their photography business in Fort Saskatchewan for
15 years. Iona, a very good photographer in her own
right , prefers to work in the background at their
display table and in the office printing orders and
running the day-to-day operations. Mike and Ionas’
photographs have appeared in Canadian Rodeo News ,
PSN ,Western Horsemen , Canadian Cowboy Country ,
Builder Archectect , New Home Buyers Guide and they
regularly field requests from various magazines and
newspapers throughout North America.
Mike Copeman Photography can supply arena strobes
to capture arena action, back drop and studio strobes
to capture your presentations and for indoor rodeo/equestrian
events Mike and Iona will set up a photo viewing monitor
at their display table for your convience. |
